Andreas Henneberg delivers a massive EP for Ideal Audios ninth release this month. It is hard to tell which track is the strongest here, because even the b-side is a smasher.

The A-side is reserved for Aquaree, which is dark, deep and with impressive sequences. It builds up and up And then drops you from above; otherwise you could burst out from its energy. The track is supported by Stephan Bodzin, Dubfire, Huntemann, and much more. Be sure to check out the masterpiece and enjoy the great video:

For the one’s who love this kind of music, 5/12 make-up club (Ghent) invites Oliver Huntemann at the minimanimal party. 3 hours of the finest minimal techno sound that this master has created in his life. Don’t miss it!

ESSENTIAL MIX 2009

As december mix I got a little surprise:

The end of 2009 is coming by, so I’m proudly presenting my essential mix of 2009. It’s containing my most desired, most loved, most played, biggest tracks of 2009. They aren’t all in definition released in 2009, but I’ve been playlisting them the most this year. As listener, as musician, as deejay. So I hope you will enjoy this mix. Feel free to love it, share it. With this mixtape I’m taking you on a journey of melodic minimal, funky tech-house, deep house, and some bass heavy songs.

It has been very difficult to make my final playlist. First I’ve finished a list of +100 songs, and decided to increase it back to a mixtape of +/- 1h30.

This was 2009. Enjoy!

LexiC’s Record Store Pick Of The Week #3

worthy n zulu

Worthy picked up my attention already a while ago (Irst_Te on Dirtybird) with some great remixes and releases. In 2006 he started his own label “Anabotic Records” with some fine tech-house. Recently he launched his EP “Eight Yay Eight” on his label. Today, the “Worthy Header” remix came out of Yankee Zulu – Head bob. Yankee Zulu, a fresh guy in the tech/electro scene, and definitely a guy to keep an eye on!

BASS BOOM BOOM, Lately I’ve been buying also a lot of booty/ghetto tracks so I’d like to share a coolio ghetto house docu:

December’s coming by.. So you can expect a new mixtape sooooon!

Are U Made To Play?

MTP

This label doesn’t need a big introduction. It’s representing one of my all-time favorite artists (yesssuur, jesse ‘fucking’ rose!) and I’m buying and playing those vinyls since the beginning. Lately “Esper Magazine” spent some exclusive attention on the signed artists of the label. Just check-out this page to discover the world of “Made To Play” right here. Awesomeness!

LexiC’s Record Store Pick Of The Week #2

This post is dedicated to some Berlin masterbrains. The first is Paul Kalkbrenner. Most of you will know him of the well-known track “Sky And Sand” with Fritz Kalkbrenner. But he has been much longer in the scene. After some great releases (gebrunn gebrunn, still one of my all-time favorites) and his masterpiece “Berlin Calling”, he’s back with a remix of “La Mezcla”. The remix got released on “Stricly Rhythm Records” and is supported by names as Ricardo Villalobos, Radio Slave, Dennis Ferrer, Guy Gerber, ..

Personally, the remix didn’t convince me at first sight, but after hearing it in some live vids I’m sure it’s going to be huge! Just take a look:

This week I picked out a second track in the same style: a fresh remix of Uffie’s “Pop The Glock” by Ellen Allien. I’m fan of the first hour of many releases on her own label, Bpitch Control, and she’s just banging the glock with her massive remix. Check it out:

LexiC’s Record Store Pick Of The Week #1

From now on, I will share some of my favorite record store picks on a weekly basis with you.

This week I’ll put the attention on an electronic downtempo number.

It’s called “Two Dots”, and has been produced by Lusine. I discovered the track at a deejay contest of a Belgian forum, in a mix of dj freQ. You can find the track on Lusine’s album, called “A Certain Distance”. It’s a world unto itself and got a depth that goes on for days. “Two Dots”, the album’s lush first single, features vocals by Vilja Larjosto sliced up into a slinky, paranoid downtempo number.

The track is available for free at the Ghostly International website.
