As the end of 2011 is coming by.. it’s time a bangin’ yearmix. My yearmix consists of the deeper side of my selected records of this year and my deeper gigs. It’s a three deck vinyl mixed deejay set which has been recorded in one take without any preparation, just as all my deejay sets because I’m convinced this is the only right manner of bringing over a musical story as deejay! I kindly hope you enjoy my musical journey of 2011.

Last weekend, I participated at the infamous Push It contest of Push It records , Prinz and café d’anvers club. I had a chance to play at the edition at hometown based club Entrenous. The week before I performed a set between 2AM and 4AM at Beat Infected, and had to play now some early bird stuff at 9PM.

I thought playing as first participant wouldn’t be a lucky start, but nothing else was true, I stayed in mind of the jury. They thold me I played a very technical strong dj set and that they saw I have been dj’ing for years now. Great to hear as confirmation of my years of dj’ing. They also thold me my track selection was very fresh and fine. Conclusion: I was one of the favourites to win this contest. Sadly, music industry and music business still have to think economical, and the ex aequo score resulted in a second place as the winner had a larger fanbase with him than me. Public and public votes are still strong in contests it seems. No shit sherlock, as the organisors thold it myself. I’m very happy I had an ex aequo score as confirmation of my skills and track selection, the kind words are the winning stuff I keep with me, and I wish the best to the winner of the contest on the next rounds! I loved to play at this contest and I’m very curious who will have the possibility to play at Studio 80 at the Push It labelnight!

The infamous Push It Records by DJ Prinz is organising a belgium-wide talent contest. I’ve been selected to play at Entrenous club’s edition, the 10th of December. I’ll be playing an early bird dj set, so hope to see you there !

Finally there’s a new and very fresh tech-house/techno concept back in bruges, called Beat Infected! I’ll be playing at the third edition, from 2h till 4h. Sharing the decks with Phil Moon, Voxter & Balance, Dr. Double U and Ken Young, see y’all there!
